EFITA is the European conference dedicated to the future use of ICT in the agri-food sector, bioresource and biomass sector. It was launched and is supported by the European Federation for Information Technology in Agriculture, Food and the Environment (EFITA) with the collaboration of the World Congress on Computers in Agriculture (WCCA). The first EFITA was held in 1997, and 2017 was the 11th of the series. Montpellier, France, had the pleasure to welcome the event already in 2001 and was most happy to do it again. Around 250 participants were present from 35 countries and 100 scientific communications were presented. Also, related events such as project meetings, keynote speakers, ICT demonstrations, a panel session about open data in agriculture, an invited session and BtoB meeting took place within the conference schedule. A technical tour about ICT in agriculture and territory management was organized at the end of the conference (july 6th).
We hope you enjoy this congress and to see you again at the next 2019 EFITA Congress in Greece to share knowledge and think the future of ICT technologies within the agri-food and bioresource sectors. Details about the next EFTA congress will follow.
